You never know what’s going to happen when you’re out hunting. Chasing a Fox was lucky enough to wake up to this great photo in our inbox. The creative genius behind this was able to capture this quick thinking Master from York & Ainsty South, who just happened to bring along a bit of rope. We would love to hear about clever things you have used when things go wrong out in the field.

This is a great reminder to clean and check your tack each time you ride. I have also seen riders with a stirrup round their horses neck as a spare and might one wear a leather as a belt to replace the broken stirrup leather? Seems it might be stronger and more secure than twine.

A belt is a great idea, as well as the stirrup leather neck strap! Quick thinking but if he fell off there is no way that would break and he’d be dragged
Sarah says
This is why I try to keep a few strings of twine in my sandwich case or in my trailer (need to get rings on the new saddles for my proper sandwich case, with it’s practical and “improper” contents). As you say, who really needs a crust-less sandwich!
