Well, we never pass up an opportunity to put on a skirt or a Little Black Dress for that matter. Imagine our excitement when we came across this gem. This made in America company is located in Alaska, so they know cold. After living through the latest cold snap in New England, we definitely need to invest in one of these. They come in insulated or just plain wool, we think either would be fabulous!
So this clever garment works to keep you cozy whether you are in the saddle or just trying to get through the daily grind at the barn. If you get the full one, it even acts as a warm half sheet for your horse. We just love when people think up stuff like this.
We would love to know what you think, would you wear one, cause we’re gonna!

I came across these about a month ago. they are pricey.BUT. If your riding your pony all year in the colder states. this is a must. I’m saving my pennies for one of these. Michigan was just to cold this winter.

I have made my own for years. Anything to keep riding in northern Minnesota winters! I would wrap a blanket around my hips and tuck it under the front of my thighs. Added a strap later. Worked so well, I could snag my terrier off the ground and let her ride in front of me if she got cold. And my legs didn’t get snowy and wet.
