We love when people contact us with questions about attire. Like so many things in Hunting, we can only guess why they are the way they are. Well, one of you contacted us and asked: “why do we leave the bottom button on our vest undone.”
This was the only good example I could find of myself with a good shot of my bottom button undone. I was getting ready to go into an appointments class and was almosts going to fall off my horse it was so hot. My friend had just passed me my hunt whip, and I almost went in like this…..(I know the handle should be facing backward.) Like I said I had a little heat stroke and switched it before I went in.
Anyway, this is what I have been told about the button question. The tradition started after one of the Kings got fat and couldn’t do his up. Since he couldn’t, no one else could either!!!
Maybe there are other stories youve been told, but thats ours. Let us know if you have heard a diffent one or just always wondered….we love this kind of stuff.
