I’ve gotta say; it’s been a long winter of me going to Physical Therapy and Doctor’s appointments recovering from my hunting accident. Thankfully I have been able to live vicariously through all of you on the internet. My newest obsession has been the Eventing Nation Leslie Wylie articles on Meeting Martha. The first time I saw this picture was in 2013 and I wanted to know who this “badass” foxhunter was. A good friend of mine Susan Corwin had gone to Ireland to ride with the Meath Hunt to break the sidesaddle record of the most ladies hunting aside. That’s where this picture of Martha was taken.
Here is a link to the article Susan Corwin wrote for Horse Nation about her adventures.

But I still didn’t know who this mysterious lady in the picture was…….
Then I saw the Eventing Nation article, and there she was again. Wow, what an interesting gal and what an adventure Leslie Wylie embarked on. I’m sure a lot of you have already been following the Eventing Nation’s adventures of Leslie Wylie, but I thought I would put them all together for easier reading. For those of you that have not yet read these, basically, Leslie reached out to a total stranger in another country and had the adventure of a lifetime. Make sure you not only read them all but also watch the videos that are attached. We even get to ride along with one of our favorite Gals. Alice Pearson, who had her headcam on the day, Leslie got to ride out with the formidable Ledbury Hunt.

I’ve been following this series of pieces and I must say, the image of Martha grabbed me as well. Such an intelligent and engaging woman. Wish I had her guts! So appreciate access to interesting stories like this too.
